Typically when getting a free estimate you receive a consultation of some degree. However, many arborists solely work as consulting arborists and provide clients with objective and comprehensive viewpoints regarding their trees and landscapes. Consulting arborists provide services such as tree valuations/appraisals, tree inventories, management plans, pre-construction consultation, tree reports, and hazard assessments. “Consulting Arborist” is a general term and does not refer to any specific certification or accreditation, however consulting arborists are typically ISA Certified Arborists and are members of the American Society of Consulting Arborists. Further, a good consulting arborist will have additional training such as becoming TRAQ (Tree Risk Assessment Qualified).

At Climb, we consult with clients and provide them with comprehensive information regarding their trees. In addition, we also advise and consult with other tree care companies and landscape companies who are seeking to understand arboriculture more deeply and/or regarding specific issues they may have with their own clients’ trees and landscape. On the flip side, we enjoy second opinions too and do not hesitate to seek consultation from other consulting arborists, prominent tree growers, and prominent arboretums. Occasionally, with larger jobs such as management of trees on significant ranches, municipalities, and state/federal properties or parks, we team up together to create more objectivity and to provide a fuller range of plant health care (ie, we might team up with a PHC specialist who also offers specific treatments and spraying).
