a gift for future generations

It’s often said that the best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time to plant a tree is today. Though we can enjoy trees we plant in our lifetime, their full potential is often not achieved and enjoyed until the next generation. Planting a tree is a gift to the generations to come. Planting trees is one of our favorite things to do!

Tree planting is an investment that, if done correctly, can yield fruits of increased property value, carbon sequestering, landscape beautification, increased habitat for birds and wildlife, air filtration, and functional values such as screening and privacy, wind block, and shade. Trees may contribute 15% or more to property value. Proper planting and maintenance is key to protecting this investment.

There is a science and set of standards to tree planting that includes tree selection, root-ball size specifications, root pruning and management, soil preparation, depth of planting, mulching, and post-planting maintenance. With Climb, you are assured a professional planting with follow-up care and monitoring. We guarantee the trees we plant too! Ask us for details.

Tree Selection in Southwest Colorado

The Western Slope of Colorado is a diverse landscape with endless microclimates and predominantly alkaline soils. Though elms, cottonwoods, spruce and aspen seem to be the default trees for planting, there is actually a much greater variety of trees that we could be planting on our properties, creating a more diverse, beautiful, and healthier urban and ranch land forest to be enjoyed by generations to come. As a member of the Montrose, CO Tree Board, Jonathan has helped to update the Montrose municipal planting list. Contact us for sight consultation, tree selection and free estimates for planting trees in Montrose, Ridgway, Ouray, and surrounding areas.
