Why climb?
The short answer is that climbing trees keeps us strong and happy and we are passionate about it. Climbing also allows us access to any tree, of any height, on any terrain, in any location, without the restriction and impact of heavy lift equipment.
We are in the lineage of a fascinating sub-culture of tree climbers that have a long tradition. Every year ISA holds regional, national, and even international tree climbing competitions. Competitors are judged on speed, safety, and technique (among other things) in various skill categories. It is a time of camaraderie and education. We learn from each other, have fun, and improve our tree climbing skills. Some of our clients—after watching us in the trees—have even attended these competitions just for the entertainment!
